Editorial standards and process
The good news is that we’re living in the age of information where knowledge is available at our fingers.
The not-so-good news is that a lot of it is false, inaccurate, or misleading — so you have to be discerning about what you’re consuming.
That’s why I feel the need to be transparent about what’s shared here on the Dream Catcher.
I am a trained and experienced journalist, so fact-checking and offering clear, objective and well-researched information is my modus operandi.
Additionally, I work with a qualified editor to ensure that everything on the site is accurate and that all references are linked to the right sources and credited.
Where do I get my information from?
The content of the articles you read on the Dream Catcher is sourced from a combination of:
- Books
- Academic research and studies in the fields of psychology, biology, science, cultural analysis and economics
- Records of historical and political events
- Philosophical theories and beliefs
- Metaphysical concepts
- News about current events
- Popular culture (movies, music, social media)
- My opinions
The topics and positions taken in the articles are influenced by my own ethics, perspectives, interests, and life experiences. Whenever I do share my stories, it’s always to illustrate a point or offer an insight or a lesson I learned from them.
I realize that not everyone will agree with what I present and that’s okay. However, I always try to offer different theories and sides of an issue.
** Special note: Like any other publication, the blog’s format, tone, and style have evolved over the years. Many of the articles written in the first couple of years are shorter and more basic. They’re also more personal and reference fewer outside sources. The article formats now are longer and have a more journalistic flavor.
